Facilitating meetings.

Facilitating meetings.

Are your meetings effective?

Do participants come out of them feeling enriched feeling that was a good use of their time?

Or are they a very polite report out that no one comments?

Are there one or two people that drive the conversation and intimidate or dominate the meeting?

As a manager, when running team meetings, you have a responsibility to facilitate them so that you make the best use of your team's time. You need to develop skills in facilitating discussion, encouraging positive and effective conflict and being able to read the energy of the room. These are critical skills, that all managers should be developing, as meetings are without question where you spend much of your time and they should be as effective and efficient as possible.
